The Project
In today’s fast-paced world, staying ahead of technological advancements is essential for business growth. After discussing the benefits of implementing an MCP server with our client, ScrubClub, we identified several opportunities where it could enhance their existing systems. Based on our knowledge of their operations, we demonstrated how an MCP server could streamline their daily and weekly tasks, enable powerful real-time data analysis, and ultimately drive their business forward. ScrubClub were immediately excited about the possibilities.
The Challenge
Our first step was to prove the concept. We chose to replicate one of ScrubClub’s existing weekly reports: a page showing administrators and managers how many washes had taken place within a specific date range, with the details of all those washes. While this page provided the raw data, it lacked built-in analysis tools. For example, to calculate the distance each technician travelled during the selected period, admins had to manually use a calculator or export the data to Excel, an inefficient process that slowed decision-making.

The Solution
Because the admin page already displayed the relevant data, the backend logic was in place. Our task was to expose that logic to a custom MCP server. Since ScrubClub’s infrastructure is hosted on Microsoft Azure, we opted to host the MCP server as an Azure Function App instead of a traditional web application, offering flexibility and keeping costs low by charging only when the function is in use.
There were a few minor learning curve hiccups as we adapted to the new technology, but implementation was straightforward. After testing the MCP server with a tool called MCP Inspector, we connected it to ScrubClub’s Claude AI agent—and it was ready for action

The Impact
The response from ScrubClub’s admin team was overwhelmingly positive. The new feature inspired them to immediately start planning additional datasets for the AI agent to access. Today, staff can use Claude AI to instantly retrieve operational and financial data, generate visual graphs, and break down complex information in seconds—transforming the speed and quality of their decision-making.
In future developments, ScrubClub plan to expand its MCP server with commands that will enable it to create or modify data directly within its database. This will give admin staff the ability to add new technicians, adjust routes, update wash details, and more, all from within their AI agent.
